Sneakers are becoming an increasingly popular fashion item. They invade our wardrobes, summer and winter alike.

But the same styles are often found on the feet of many different people. Why not make your own? It's an opportunity to let your personality shine through. It's a chance to wear a unique pair of shoes.

This phenomenon, created by artists or celebrities, is now available to everyone, thanks to personalisation kits or artists who specialise in personalising trainers.  
Whether you want to personalise trainers for a special event or simply to make a style statement, the possibilities are endless.

Here we're talking about custom trainers with sneaker paint. Other customisation options include embroidery and patches. These techniques can be combined for an even more unique result. However, embroidery and patch techniques are not covered in this article.

How do you personalise your trainers?

The personalisation process starts with the choice of model. We recommend choosing a white style for ease of conversion.

Take the trainer customisation kit with you to get the basic colours you need to create your design. The kit contains a neutral base to which you mix the pigments and brushes to apply the colour.

The kit can be applied to any material on your trainers.

Here are the steps to personalise your trainers:

1. Clean the entire pair of trainers with Monsieur Chaussure Sneaker Cleaner.

2. Prepare the leather by applying the contents of the preparation bottle to all the areas to be personalised.
At the same time, prepare your colour palette with the neutral base and pigments.

3. Dip your chosen brush and start painting your shoes. The colours are highly pigmented, so it's not necessary to apply several coats.

4. When you are finished, apply the Monsieur Chaussure waterproofing treatment. You can apply several light coats for maximum protection against rain and external aggression.

5. Leave your shoes to dry for an hour to ensure that everything is dry before you wear them.

When you're not wearing your trainers, place them on shoe trees. The trees will stretch the leather and prevent the creases from marking your design and cracking the colour.

Store them out of direct sunlight to prevent the colour of the custom from fading.

Don't machine wash your trainers. Instead, hand wash them using special products such as the Monsieur Chaussure range.

Between washes or on rainy days, spray your trainers with a waterproofing spray to protect them from water.
