The black Teinture Francaise shoe dye by Saphir (500ml) colours the full surface of any of your smooth leather, suede or nubuck items.
The Saphir shoe dye comes in a liquid form and colours leather items such as an armchair, or accessories including bags, belts and wallets. This economy-size bottle of dye contains enough dye for colouring all your black leather items. It also serves other purposes such as hiding scuffs and scratches on your black leather, or creating a patina that imitates the look of worn leather. Countless shoemakers use and recommend this dye as a must-have care product for any leather expert.
Use the Saphir Teinture Francaise only on leather that has been cleaned or that has had its colour removed to ensure that dust particles do not get trapped in when dyeing the leather. Always use the dye in a well-ventilated area and cover your clothing as well as any valuable objects to prevent them from getting stained. The dye can be applied on scratched areas of black leather items to mask the faded out colour and restore the natural beauty of the leather. The large 500ml bottle provides enough dye for treating specific spots as well as for dyeing entire articles made of black leather. Test a bit of the dye on a hidden area to determine whether it produces the colour you want. This is a very important step since leather varies widely from one item to another and thus reacts differently during the dyeing process. Once you are satisfied with the results, apply an even coat of dye over the entire surface of the shoe and allow it to dry for at least one hour before to assess the true colour. If the colour is not intense enough after an hour, do not hesitate to add additional coats of the dye, but be mindful of the one-hour drying time required after each coat. You will need to complete the dyeing process by nourishing the leather as it becomes very dry when cleaned, colour-stripped or dyed. Opt for a black shoe cream to soften the leather and sustain its new colour. For hard leather items, you can end with a shoe polish to waterproof the leather and give it a shine.
Store your shoe dye in a cool, dry place and remember to tightly close the bottle cap to avoid wastage.

I just got this dye, and already two pairs of once brown boots are beautiful black. One pair in particular was very damaged and discolored, and they are now wearable again. The process was easy and quick, and very fun! Thank you for great products.
