The dark brown Teinture Francaise shoe dye by Saphir (500ml) is ideal for colouring smooth leather, nubuck and suede or for creating a patina.
The dark brown Teinture Francaise shoe dye colours entire leather articles, whether they come in large sizes such as an armchair, or small sizes such as jackets, coats or accessories. This dye is particularly popular among lovers of fine leather not only because it is easy to use, but also because it provides a wide range of possibilities for personalising leather items. Saphir shoe dyes are most commonly used for creating a leather patina that imitates the effects of time on a leather colour.
Use the Saphir Teinture Francaise black leather dye only on leather that has been cleaned or that has had its colour removed and make sure that you are in a well-ventilated area. Dab the dye on damaged areas on the leather to mask scratches and restore the natural beauty of the leather. The large-sized, 500ml bottle contains enough product for dyeing large leather items including jackets and even armchairs. Always begin by testing a bit of the dye on a hidden area to determine whether it produces the colour you want. This will avoid any potential disappointment as leather varies widely from one item to another and thus reacts differently during the dyeing process. If you are satisfied with the results, apply an even first coat of the dye and allow it to dry for at least one hour to assess the true colour. For a darker brown, do not hesitate to add additional coats of the dye, but be mindful of the one-hour drying time required after each coat. Once you obtain the desired colour, you will need to complete the dyeing process with a tinted shoe cream to intensify the colour, or a neutral shoe cream to maintain the exact shade obtained.
Store your Saphir dark brown shoe dye in a cool, dry place to maximise its shelf life, and remember to tightly close the bottle cap to avoid wastage.
