How to use this product.

Precautions for use: use this product in a ventilated room and protect your work surface to avoid staining it.

The dye is always applied to leather that has been stripped with a stripper specially designed for smooth leather. Once you have stripped the entire shoe and obtained a matt leather, you can apply the dye. The dye is applied to the entire shoe using the tool provided or a brush. To achieve the desired colour, you need to apply several coats so that the result is even. When you have obtained the desired result, let your shoes dry for several hours. The next day you can maintain your shoes by applying a Mr. Shoe polish cream rich in fatty substances to intensely nourish them and intensify the colour.

Then finish with Monsieur Chaussure shoe polish paste with beeswax to make it shine and protect it from humidity.

Be sure to keep the dye in a dry room away from heat.

Saphir Red Shoe Dye for Patina Design 50ml

The red Teinture Francaise shoe dye by Saphir (50ml) colours smooth leather, nubuck and suede.

The Saphir Teinture Francaise shoe dye is ideal for colouring shoes and small red leather accessories such as wallets and handbags. With this red dye, you can also create an original patina that imitates the look of worn leather shoes. This dye is daily favourite among shoemakers because of its user-friendliness and low cost. It comes in a 50ml bottle and is sold in a set that includes a pair of gloves and a cotton wick applicator.

For best results, use the Saphir Teinture Francaise red shoe dye only on leather that has been cleaned or that has had its colour removed. We also recommend using the dye in a well-ventilated area and covering any valuable objects to prevent them from getting stained. You can apply the Saphir Teinture Francaise shoe dye to specific spots to mask scuffs and scratches on the leather, thereby preserving its natural beauty. It is important to note that although this dye masks imperfections, it does not in any way nourish the leather. The primary function of the dye is to colour an entire surface of leather. Before proceeding with the dyeing process, test a bit of the dye on a hidden area to determine whether it reacts well with the leather. It is very difficult to predict how a dye will affect a leather surface as different leather pieces are tanned in different ways. If you are satisfied with the result of the test, apply a thin and even first coat over the entire leather and allow it to dry for at least one hour to obtain the true outcome. If the colour is not intense enough after an hour, you can always add other coats to deepen the red shade, but be mindful of the one-hour drying time required after each coat. Once you are satisfied with the overall results, you will need to use a shoe cream to nourish and soften the leather as the cleaning and dyeing processes severely dry out leather. Opt for a neutral shoe cream to maintain the newly dyed colour, or a red shoe cream to intensify the shade and treat any areas that get damaged in the future. Complete the leather care process with a shoe polish to waterproof and shine the leather.

Store your Teinture Francaise shoe dye in a cool, dry place to ensure proper conservation.
